What do I need to bring?
- Cooler with any drinks or snacks, most trips run an average of 4 hours, so pack accordingly. Also, leave some room to be able to carry your freshly cleaned fish home. Alcohol is allowed. No glass bottles.
- Children 12 years of age and younger are required to wear a life jacket at all times. If you have your own you are more than welcome to bring it, if not one will be provided.
How should I dress?
Always look at the forecast and dress accordingly. Summer months are usually pretty easy to pattern, however during the cooler months I advise to always wear more than you need. You can always take it off. Daylight hours on the water tend to be slightly cooler than forecasted along with wind from the drive out.
Do you fish in the rain?
Rainy days are usually judged by the night before. Texas weather can be very unpredictable with some storms lasting only a couple hours of the day. If it’s just a slight drizzle and no storms/wind I strongly advise going. These days are known to be some of the best days on the water as far as the bite goes. As always, Safety is our number one goal and we will always work with a client to reschedule a trip if we feel it to be unsafe.

Do you guarantee I’ll catch fish?
YES! Here at Ucatchem Fishing Guide Service it is our goal to provide our clients with the best experience possible. If we do not catch fish during your trip your next trip is on us!
Will our fish be cleaned for us?
YES! Fish cleaning is included with your trip. We pride ourselves on being able to provide the best cleaning options available.
Fish will be fileted, bagged and rinsed at the end of each trip. Your striper catch will also always be “red-meated”. Be sure and leave some room in your cooler. On a good day it usually comes out to about a gallon bag of filets per limit of fish on both lakes.
What does “Red-Meating” my striper catch while fileting mean?
- Red-meated fish (such as striped bass) have a noticeable red or dark-colored muscle tissue, often found along the lateral line of the fish. This tissue is rich in myoglobin, a protein that stores oxygen and gives the meat its red color
- In striped bass, this red meat can have a stronger flavor compared to the white meat, which is milder and more delicate.
Why This Matters
- Flavor Profile: The red meat of striped bass can be more flavorful and sometimes preferred by those who enjoy a stronger taste.
- Preparation:Some people choose to remove the red meat during filleting to achieve a milder flavor in their dishes. Our process of fileting provides the best of both worlds.

About Lake Texoma
Distance from home and size of fish are usually the biggest factor for most. As avid fisherman we recommend making the drive to Lake Texoma to have a chance at catching a fish of a lifetime. Lake Texoma is one of the best striped bass fisheries in the world as far as numbers go, with most fish being between the 3–8-pound range and 10-20 plus pound fish caught regularly. With a limit of 10 fish per person and 2 of those being over 20 inches long, you get a good amount of meat per fish along with a great fight.
